3 Summer Date Ideas

Hello loves! Since it's officially, officially summer, I thought it would be a good time to share 3 summer date ideas for you and your significant other (or bff haha). I'm always trying to think of new ideas for my boyfriend and I, or even dates we haven't done in awhile, but we also don't want to have to spend an arm and leg to just have a fun night. So here are my 3 summer date ideas that won't break the bank!

1. Drive-In Movie
So this might not be the most unique idea ever, but it is one of the funnest dates in my opinion. I love going to the drive in and curling up under a blanket outside and watching a movie. Typically, drive-ins will show two movies, so you're getting a lot for your money. You can bring your own food too, which is nice, or buy some at the movie. We always load up on the popcorn with LOTS of butter! This is also a great group date idea.

2. Night In
Cook one of your alls favorite meals together... and dessert! Find something that isn't super easy either, find a recipe that will keep you both busy and working together. This is a great way to spend time together but also learning how to work and communicate better with one another. You can have it on the patio or sit in the living room floor to make it fun! For dessert, make s'mores or something simple like that! I made a s'mores dip one time and it was heavenly. Enjoy your dessert while catching up on your fave Netflix series or rent a movie you all haven't seen yet. It's an easy, fun and intimate date night.

3. Go to an Outdoor Event
Look up local outdoor concerts, farmer's markets, food and/or drink festivals, and go spend some time there together! Take advantage of the beautiful summer weather and spend some time enjoying each other's company while experiencing a fun event! These ideas give you both the opportunity to spend some time together while also being in a public setting. Farmer's Markets usually have a lot of yummy food too ;)

Now for the outfit...

I felt like this was a good outfit to include in a date night post because it's the kind out outfit that you can wear for many different occasions and make it as dressy as you want. This romper is the comfiest romper I've ever owned. It's so soft and and extremely flattering, which makes me feel more confident wearing it. I paired it with the cutest jean jacket ever! It has ruffles across the back and down the sleeves and only costs $40. A steal. Simple but fun outfit!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be heading to the beach for a week of fun and relaxation!

Summer Beauty: Current Makeup Routine

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how I do my makeup and how I get it to stay all day! This is the routine I follow everyday and it lasts me an entire work day and sometimes even longer with minimal touch ups. So today I'm sharing an in-depth post on the products I use and why I use them.

1. Primer

So in my last makeup post I didn't include primer because I wasn't using one on a daily basis, and what I was using wasn't really impressing me. BUT that has changed completely. I finally found a primer that I can get behind and it's the Becca Evermatte and Poreless Primer. This is a great primer for anyone who has oily or combination skin like I do, because it is really tacky and helps your makeup stay in place all day. I definitely would not recommend this primer for someone who has dry skin or on days where your skin has dryer patches of skin on them. If you have dry skin I recommend the Marc Jacobs Coconut Milk Primer.

2. Foundation

I've been using this foundation for awhile now and it is a great long-wearing foundation for any skin type. This foundation will get me through an entire work day and also helps miniziae my pores and the oil my skin produces. It is also a great on camera foundation which is super important to me. My favorite way to apply this foundation is with a damp Beauty Blender. I take the foundation and put it on my face with either my fingers or a brush and then I use the Beauty Blender to blend in the foundation to create a flawless look.

3. Concealer

I recently hoped on the Tarte Shape Tape concealer bandwagon and let me tell ya, it's good. I've never used a concealer that has had this much coverage before or that stays in place better than this one. It is a great full coverage concealer and covers my dark circles. Only downside is that it is over $20 and that can be a lot for a concealer BUT it is totally worth every penny.

4. Set Your Makeup

I have oily/combo skin so powder is my best friend. I've been using MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder and a translucent setting powder to set my concealer. Translucent powder is a really great product to have in your makeup bag especially if you have oily skin. It will help your skin stay matte while not adding more product onto the skin. I like to set my entire face with translucent powder after Ive finished all of my face makeup. The two powders I love are the Laura Mercier setting powder and RCMA No Color Powder. They both do a great job but the RCMA is A LOT cheaper and comes with way more product.

5. Eyebrows

So my eyebrow routine hasn't changed much since my last makeup routine post. I've been using the Anastasia Brow Definer , however, instead of the Brow Wiz. This is because I think it's a lot easier to use the Brow Definer and I can get done a lot faster! I finish off my brows with Benefit's Gimme Brow to give them a fuller, more natural look. The more natural looking, the better i.m.o.

6. Lashes and Liner

This routine has also not changed much since my first makeup post. The best mascara hands down is the Better Than Sex Mascara. I've been using this since it came out and I haven't found anything better! It gives great volume and length. I usually pair it with a drugstore mascara that has a different kind of brush. This is because I think my lashes respond better when I'm not using the exact same brush for all coasts. So for my last coat of mascara, I'll run over my lashes with a drug store mascara. Typically one from Covergil of L'Oréal. For liquid liner on the top of my lids, I use a pen liner from L'Oréal that works great!

7. Blush, Bronzer, Highlight

The blush and bronzer I've been using lately are both drugstore products. Milani Baked Blush and Butter Bronzer. The blush gives the perfect amount of sheen and color and the bronzer is perfect for transitioning from my winter color to my summer color. Once I actually have a tan, I'll probably start using my Hoola Bronzer by Benefit! Since my skin is more oily in the summer, I have to be careful when using a highlighter. I use Anastasia's That Glow palette to add a small amount of glow to the high points of my cheeks. I also tap the brush off  before applying it to my face. This isn't something I do every day though.

8. Finishing Touches...

A full makeup look isn't complete without a good lipstick. My favorite brand for lip products is MAC. For a high-end brand, MAC has the best price for lipsticks and liner. My go-to combo is Kinda Sexy  lipstick paired with Spice liner. One last product I don't think I could live without is MAC Fix+ spray. I finish off my looks using this spray and then lightly fan my face afterwards. I also use this before I do my makeup to give my skin extra moisture.
